Yes, but this time they were clapping on lap 2 when Alonso emerged from the final corner of the first lap with a comfortable lead!

I don't see any great problem with it though, you've gotta expect people to support their home hero. Just so long as it doesn't interfere with the job they have to do.

BUT ther had been discussion that they were all copying Ferrari and now their rear wings flex and open up

To be honest, I think all the teams wings have always flexed somewhat, it was just the particular design of the Ferrari front wing at the start of the season and the position of the nose camera that made it obvious and really brought it to the media's attention. Just look at the flex of the Renault wing at Adelaide...

Or the bizarre moving flap infront of the wishbones and behind the front wing of the BMW in Bahrain...

awesome visuals guys. Although it is pretty clear to see during the race too, esp when they accelerate out of a bend.

J_B, it wasn't the flex per-se, it was that when the Ferrari wing flexed it OPENED up a channel for air to spill. Hence getting VERY close to the definition of "movable aerodynamic device"

The way they measure flex in the regs is understood, just Ferrari had been "smart" to see that the regs didn't' say the parts all had to stay connected. SO they were to the letter of the law -- as all of those above ( some flex is allowed ) but Ferrari were outside the intent of the law
