    and finally...

Well, looks like I may just finally get my car now once and for all. After searching for a used car that I could afford, I finally found one that I could actually work with. Once I was ready to buy, my mother told my grandma about the situation and she took it into her own hands to take a look at the car. She thought that the car was junk and demanded she buy me a new car this summer. (She hates used cars for some reason.) This was a few weeks back of course and now that summer has approached, we will be going to look at new automobiles next week.

I believe my budget is around $23,000 and she prefers me to get a truck because she believes it's "safer" than any other automobile. I don't mind but I can work my way around that and focus on a car if I want to. Anyways, it has to be new. Like I said, she hates used cars for some unusual reason and that is going to be out of the picture.

So, i've researched a little and found some cars that I would like to take a look at.

    - gmc sierra 1500 w/ 5.3L (2dr reg cab short box)
    - acura rsx-s
    - subaru wrx TR
    - volkswagen gti

Alright, so the only real main thing I have to worry about is paying the gas and insurance. Insurance is going to be a main factor as because im only 17, but I will be going under my mothers insurance so that will knock a nice percentage off the actual cost. Another thing I might add is that i've never have driven a stick, so im really not sure if I want a mannual as a first car. I'm sure the dealer would show me the basics before we actually bought it but i'd like to hear a few opinions from other people about this situation before I move forward.

Please, everyone give me your opinions and pointers and what automobile would best suit me. If you have any other cars you would like to throw into the rotation that you think I should consider, please do.

Of those, the WRX. Also consider the WRX wagon.

WRX or RSX-S, both nice cars but it comes down to AWD, or Nice interior and transmission.

If your going for a truck the sierra is great for your budget and that, but then again it's a bigger engine so it'll use more gas, you also may want to take a look at some new Dodge Calibers, they start at $16 000 CDN and they're pretty nice, only four cylinders so it won't use much gas as well.

I like the Golf GTI, but the Subaru is very probably a better allrounder.

If you thought about the Acura RSX Type-S why don't you think about the Civic and the Si? It's just as good and less expensive.

If your Grandma is strict about the $23,000 limit, you'll have to keep your GTI practically stock.

You can't get the black leather as it requires the selection of one of the $3,160 XM or Sirius Satellite radios.
Here's a good list of options for you though.

True. I don't know why, but the Interlagos just seems so much more better suited to this car....
