One of the most significant prototype of the 1950s, this was a design exercise for the elegant Lancia Flamina sedan. The flat, straight trapeze line and the special bend in the sides, which made the whole profile appear more slender due to the play of light, continued as the inspiration for moder design until the eighties.
This prototype evolved into Florida II concept, which was presented in 1957 at the Salon International de l'Auto in Geneva and became Battista Pininfarina's personal car of choice. The final production Lancia Flaminia was shown in 1957.
