EDIT: In the first one, I am aware it is a 917, I am wondering about the car on the right.
The one in the first pic is an Audi R8C, the hard-top predecessor to the all-conquering R8.

Can't help with the second one I'm afraid.

Second one is a Chevrolet Intrepid, which was the works IMSA GTP car for Chevrolet from 1991 to 1993
Have to say it's quite hideous.

Funny thing is, I am familiar with the R8C and know what it's about, but the Union Jack on the side threw me off.

    Thanks again J_B.

Yeah it is pretty hideous. Now I will try to find out if it was effective.

    Thanks Zytek_Fan.

    Thanks Zytek_Fan.
I did a bit of research of what was available, and apparently the Intrepid was a good car, quite capable of being a front runner, but was usually bested by the better efforts of the works Nissans, Jaguars, and the Spice Acuras.

I'm sure IMSA longs to have the GTP and GTO era back

How do you tell the difference between a TLC restored FJ and a stock FJ?

Yeah I checked that out too. I didn't see a single race win between 1991 and 1993.

What the hell are Spice Acuras?

If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

This icon isn't a fully restored Toyota FJ, excluding the original factory frame; it is a brand-new Land Cruiser. The majority of components are built from scratch; everything else is new. The only remaining original component, the frame, has been restored to like-new condition. If you're asking yourself, "can I buy one?" they are in fact available. This particular FJ is a prototype and would probably come with a hefty price tag. The hand-crafted Toyota is the first vehicle produced from scratch by TLC. The owner of TLC, Jonathan Ward, tells us thus far he has out approximately $185,000 into the design and build. We can only guess at the true value of this Land Cruiser, since Jonathan is quite renowned for his vehicle restoration and build abilities.

does anybody know if it Austin built its own version of the Mini Marcos?
i found some pics of a Mini Marcos but named "1972 Austin Mini JEM MKII".
my doubt is if this car is actually an official Austin. i know the Marcos and the Jem both descend from the D.A.R.T.

Marcos was actually set up by Jem Marsh, which might explain some of the names used. The model as such was never an Austin or a Morris production version.
