My dad purchased a new computer today and gave it to me in exchange of my old one. He said he didn't need performance and that he knew I did. Amazing.

    It's a HP A1740N, Core 2 Duo E6300, 2GB of DDR2 PC2-4200, 320GB SATA Hard Drive, Windows Vista Premium and on-board video. Not bad for a free computer, especially when going from a Sempron 3400+... It'll do the trick until I can get a Core 2 Quad and "Üb3r 1337 Sl1 gr4pH1kKz y0".

Yeah, I was very surprised to find a sealed HP computer box in my room when coming back from shopping... It's definitely a cool move.

Save for a decent video card to get to use the performance of the processor - it's fast enough with a decent card

Yes, I'll probably buy a Radeon 2900 XT. They seem to perform as good as 8800 GTX/Ultra cards and are cheaper. Thanks NuclearCrap for the tip!

I went on a bit of a CD buying bender the other day. i guess it's only fair i show them off.

Primarily bought for two reasons. 1) i think he's got some flow. 2) because if he outsells 50 Cent fiddy says he will quit the music business. I'm doing my part to save our ears from another "straight to the bank".
