    I'm all for protecting people's privacy, but how does seeing someones license # do so? License numbers are public anyway, anyone on the road can see it. Now releasing someones name, license number and address, might give a thief an idea of where to find a certain car, but with the amount of effort it takes to steal one of these high profile cars, finding its location and owner is no difficulty compared to the actual theft. So I really don't see the harm.

    Yes, but how often do you see an F1 driving around the road?

    Let me put it another way;

    What does anybody gain by knowing who owns what supercars?

    Nothing.

    Therefore, why draw attention to their identity, even if they have appeared on TV?
    Thanks for all the fish

    Just to clarify one additional point in this rather pointless debate.

    Besides the video I previously mentioned, I have 135 images of this particular F1 from various times in it's life (a few are duplicates at different resolutions). Of that number, 42 are detail shots, or photos that don't focus on an area of the car which would include the number plate. Another 15 shots show the plate, but have it blurred or Photoshopped out. That leaves a total of 78 photos where the plate is clearly visible and unaltered, the oldest of which has been on my hard drive dating back to October 2002. Essentially what I am saying is that the plate on this car is hardly a secret to anyone who has been paying attention and adding it to this thread was hardly a crime of courtesy or anything else.

    That's really none of your business - I don't even know why you'd ask a question like that.
