you most prob wouldn't be allowed to drive it, in my state they introduced restrictions to what younger drivers can drive, no turbos, no V8's, no superchargers no nuffin mate.
dude that must suck... this applies to which age... from when you get your license to like 21 or so?

Dude... nice. Those wheels suck, though. As with anything european, or black, or any car for that matter; you should put on some nice BBS wheels.

Smoke them so they're almost as dark as the rest of the car. It'll look badass. Just a friendly suggestion.

My preference would be to source the original Alfa wheels. I reckon they always look better with factory alloys. That's my friendly suggestion!

More in keeping with the vehicle, IMHO - and not ugly either:

They apply the same logic to motorcycles here and it works very well.

the nice thing about the Aussie rules would be that the extremely powerfull small turbo diesels now available everywhere except in some backward areas like Aus and US were not eligible for younger people

It's actually only two states that have introduced this, NSW and Victoria. In Victoria, it's straight power-to-weight, but NSW foolishly made it V8, Turbo, S/C, Modified or "High-performance 6 cyl" engined cars, which means that you couldn't drive a C180 Kompressor or Volvo T5, but could drive an Elise/Exige, 7 rep, or basically very fast 4cyl cars. This applies until you're off your P-plates (20 at the earliest)

The Victoria system makes perfect sense.

In the UK with bikes it's similar. They simply say up to 125cc and no more than 14.6bhp, which quite neatly covers it. Means Joe Teenager can't go out and get on a 125cc 2-stroke Aprilia race bike!

Does the victoria power:weight restriction only prevent you from owning some insanely fast sports car/V8 monster or would you be really knackered even if you wanted something more civilised like a 2ltr Focus?

That's exactly the same rules as here. In the ACT (state where I live) The L bike rules are under 125kw per tonnes, no cc limit. So when I get my bike licence I can ride a Ducati 620 Monster Dark, or a Fatboy, or an Aprillia RS125. But I'm mostly likely gonna do what everyone does and get a CBR250RR.

Something like a Focus would be fine. It's a quite high limit (~150kw p/tonne IIRC) designed to stop the high powered cars. So you can't buy a 7 that'll do a 3.something 0-100

Thanks for all the comments guys

Just spent most of the day taking off the door panels to screw around with the motors for the windows, they wouldn't open!

As far as the wheels go, I'm not too fond of them either, they're nice but I want something else.. I'm looking at finding a set of these babies:

And I've seen some comments about the subs and the sound system... what bothers you guys about them? I'm just curious, because I posted these pics on a local racing site (MontrealRacing.com), and people loved the system... maybe it's a case of those members being ~17-21 yrs old, while you guys here are all old farts? kidddddingggggggg

    Like those Alfa alloys!

If being over 21 is old, I'm ancient!
