well ADRENALINE wont like this news... but Ford July U.S. Sales Drop 34.2%.
Ford Motor Co. The second largest U.S. automaker, said Tuesday that its July U.S. sales fell 34.2% compared to the year ago period, hurt by sharp declines in sales of most products, particularly trucks. Ford blamed tough comparisons to July 2005, when the automaker had offered employee prices under the Ford Family Plan to all customers and posted record sales for the month, for the drop in sales.
The Dearborn, Michigan-based automaker said it sold 241,339 vehicles in July, down 34.2% from 366,548 vehicles sold in the year-earlier period.
Total U.S. car sales for July declined 7.0% to 89,395 units from 96.143 units a year ago, while total U.S. truck sales dropped 43.8% to 151,944 units from
270,405 units last year.
Sales of Ford's F-Series truck, America's best selling vehicle for 29 years in a row, dropped 45.6% to 68,982 units in July from 126,905 units a year ago.
Ford also said it will introduce two all-new crossover utilities, the Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX, later this year.
