They'd make one. Or if not Quaife, I know for a fact Hewland take on custom jobs.

know for a fact that hewland only makes dog boxes, and no paddle shifts either.

i would still keep the 4wd system, but instead have a sub system to allow for rear wheel drive only if needed, much like the R32 GTR they use to race in AUS back in early 90s, had a button that allow the car be competely rwd.

Isn't the Murky's awd 30:70 spilt front:rear most of the time anyway?

Almost every review of it seems to suggest that it certainly behaves more like a rwd car than an awd one.
    Thanks for all the fish

40 : 60 from the top of my head, 20 : 80 under heavy accleration.

i can get an exact figure if you want.

it only truely behaves like a rwd when its a rwd. it corners like a 4wd.

hewland won't make a road box full stop, no matter what you pay, they make more money out of supplying race teams than making one off road box for someone.

Erm, yes they will. Wave enough money in front of any company and they'll sort you out.

    Nonsense.

I'm sure if you asked nicely enough (how big is your bank balance?) they'll make you anything you want.

Look, everything is for sell for the right amount of money... but having said that there is a difference of saying "If i have money i'll do......" and "I've got a SLR and i'll do....."

I personally know someone who owns a 550 that wanted a race gear box from Hewland, they only make dog race boxes for the 550 and he wanted a full syncro (and no paddel shifts, lever operated only). standard race box was 25k pounds from memory and he offered basically any amount so long as they can get it done (within reasons). and the answer was "no, sorry race box only".

now surely if you give hewland 1 mil pound and say build me a SLR gearbox, they'll most likely say "yeah ok", but that's like saying if someone offer me 10 mil USD i'll sell my wife.

    come on mate....
