    Take it away.

This is just exploitation of a valued name.

It's like reintroducing a Remington typewriter with XP...

I was about to say the Smart car is smaller, but then I realised that is actually a rollerskate.

Its only a valued name to the wearers of rose-tinted glasses, the origional car was a slow, noisey, unreliable, uncomfortable rust prone death trap.

That doesn't look that bad... It looks more like a bad body kit and some strange headlight lids. Are you sure they're even putting it into production?

Look at it this way guys, if it doesn't sell well, BMW is gonna have to downsize it to it's current dementions.

when you get rear-ended by a truck you wont be so smart then!

although i think if anything hit this car you would be hurt someway... maybe if a bicycle hit you head on

But i see these cars everyday so maybe i'm used to the look of them, but they are bigger than the older ones but who really cares... they are selling them!

I seriously see nothing wrong with it. They're just growing with the times.

Yeah, they're just growing with the times. Meaning that as humans in developed countries continue to get fatter, look worse, use more resources, and become overparanoid about safety, the car companies do too. It sucks.

I've heard the argument that this car is "as small as modernly possible", but according to a family friend (who's been an automotive journalist for decades) this is totally untrue.

Actually I think the reason why you guys hate it so much is because all the body tape crud is still on it. If they removed it you guys probably wouldn't be so negative about the MINI. Funny thing is that I saw the original Italian Job yesterday. Good movie.

    Maybe pay attention.

We're talking about how it sucks that it's so big. Removing the body cladding isn't going to turn it into a smaller car.
