I would have chosen the Ouragans for our pug too, if it had been possible at the time of purchase (and if I had been in position to choose).

It's not worth it, for the same reason it's not worth me modifying my Corsa: It's a cheap first car and if I saved the money I could change it for something better. For the money I'd spend modifying the Corsa, I could buy a nearly new Mk5 Astra Sporthatch.

Sam, save the money and buy a better car later, it's a much clever idea trust me.

    Problems are arising

She's drinking petrol again at a rate of knots.
The steering is making a very odd creaking sound when turned lock-to-lock (this is intermittent, but ****ing annoying).
The clutch sort of sticks on its way back up.
The window is creaking on its way down.

Welcome to the world of French cars... I may be getting her for my birthday, apparently.

I'd say: welcome to the real world of car ownership

    Creaking window sounds really serious!

Lol, the Honda hasn't missed a beat, apart from the transmission shitting itself at some point. However, I'll be taking Kitty in for a service at some point. Woo.

Out of those, I'd be least worried about the windows. TBH the rest sounds expensive. What sort of creaking are you getting from it and do you have electric windows?

The creaking creates friction on the steering rack, although my power steering fluid levels are fine (I think...)

The windows are just sticking on the seals, I think. One of my friends pushed down the window from the outside- yes, they are electric- and it's making a weird sound, like when you blow between the pages of a book.

I know I'm repeating myself but that engine can't be a good conditions to achieve those fuel consumption figures. There just has to be something wrong with it.

You're telling me. My parents are insisting it's fine. I'm not!

This time, I've managed 71 miles for a quarter of the tank- full to the brim. That means it should do 280 miles from this tank. Wtf?
