Personally, I'd love to see Jim Richards win the race one last time. Its not impossible, just unlikely given he's no longer a full time V8 Supercar driver.
UCP's biggest Ford Sierra RS500 and BMW M3 E30 fan. My two favourite cars of all time.

Lowndes, just because it's his turn and he's on fire.

I had to go back 4 pages to find this thread... anyways, its 3 days to go till the cars are on track. Who still stands by there original claims of who will win? I still think it'll be Lowndes, he'll do it for Brocky. Oh, and before you close this thread FPV, just remember, THIS IS THE ORIGINAL ONE. ta.

What's the weather forecast???? If the conditions are right, Murphy's lap record (a 2:06.8 in 2003) will probably be broken - I was looking at the Archives, and the Practice/Qualifying Times for 2005 were faster than 2003, but the rain spoilt any chances of it being broken in the Shootout.

    https://sports.centrebet.com/

Tander/Skaife are the favourites on $3.50, followed by Lowndes/Whincup on $4.00, Kelly Bros on $5.50, and Bright/Winterbottom on $6.00. I'll call them the BIG 4.

Interestingly, for winning make, Holden are favourites on $1.70, with Ford on $2.05.

I'm still hoping for a Courtney/Seton victory (would be such a fairytale finish ) It could happen, as Courtney is fully up to speed now (he's made the last couple of Top-10 Shootouts.)

I think I'll get my dad to go down to the T.A.B. and put some money on Courtney/Seton

Well i think on top of Courtney/Seton, alot of people will be gunning for the Briscoe/Richards and Bowe/Jones pairings. Personally i'd like to see Lowndes and Whincup win. Im surprised theyre tipped so close to Tander/Skaife actually, just 50c in it which really isnt all that much.

10 hrs drive away from the track due west. Today it was blustery and 31 degrees. Quite warm for this time of year. Havent looked but there appears to be a cold front coming through in the next day or two. Having said that, Australia is in the biggest drought in history at the moment so rain is unlikely except in the south around Melbourne etc. Im not sure if the weather comes in from the west like it does here, purely because when I lived in Sydney the weather seemed to come in off the ocean ie east. Should be fine for the event though.
Courtney and Seto are the sentimental favourites. Surely Seto can get up for a win one day...

Yeah.....I've got a soft spot for Bowe/Jones - theyve been around for a long time now, and they always seem to hit their stride in the enduros. They got into the Top-5 at Sandown too....so things are looking up for them.

That poll on the first page is stupidity.

In my opinion, Lowndes and Whincup will smash em'

Seriously, last year Lowndes was the fastest (until that tyre went through his windscreen) and Whincup came second overall. They came 3rd in Sandown after being a LAP DOWN. Lowndes is first right now in the championship and Whincupis doing very well too. They are a good team and I look forward to seeing them get out there at full speed.

Got to remember there'll be some teams setting their cars up towards the later stages of the race. This is perhaps the last race they want to go for qualy glory as by the 5th + 6th hrs, they'll be nowhere.

I reckon its kinda cheap how all the Holden drivers are saying that they should win because Peter Brock drove for Holden.....taking it a bit too far IMO.

I agree, to an extent. Theres plenty of other drivers out there who had close relations with Brock that probably want to win for him as well, the most notable one would be Lowndes.

I reckon the make of car he drove is somewhat irrelevant really in the grand scheme of things - he was a friend to pretty much all of them.
