A DBRS9 is mildly modified version of the DB9. The DBR9 shares little else with the DB9 than the overall look and the engine block. Though one letter apart, they are distinctly different cars. It is incorrect to state a DBRS9 is a watered down version of the DBR9.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

If I remember well, Jeremy didn't say that the DBRS9 was road legal, they test the DBR9 on the track and they didn't put the time on the board because "you can't buy it" = meaning it isn't road legal, but then James May said: " but you can buy this one if you have .....pounds", so I thought it was road legal, but with all the rollcage and racing tires...it is a bit cofusing, but i don't think that they said it was road legal, I'd have to find and watch the video again.
Life is too short to stay, race!
Gora Euskadi! Visca Catalunya!
which one is the closest to the specs of the DBR9, the DBS or the DBRS9
Neither, both are close to the DB9.Originally Posted by Ziostilon

I think a few people have said this but one's the street legal version and the other is a racing car. I saw it on Top Gear.

Ok.
After a little research this is what i have come up with.
The DBRS9 shares a lot of components with the DB9 but is not road legal. It has a slightly tuned DB9 engine producing 20% more power. It uses the DB9 chassis but has a DBR9 rollcage to stiffen it up. It has had 450kg shaved off the weight with the help of carbon fiber and ally panels. The suspension is now fully adjustable and the ride height has been bought down.

I suppose if you had enough money, you could use either as a track day car.
I don't think the DBRS9 is "street legal" in standard trim, although with a few modifications it probably could be.
After all, the point of GT cars these days is that they are supposedly very close to road-going versions.
Thanks for all the fish
but not to be road legal it sez on the fia gt3 site that this car is not road legal

Looking at the DBRS9 i think you would have to change a lot of the body panels to be road legal. I don't think the radius of some of the edges would pass an SVA test.Originally Posted by Coventrysucks

let me get in-between your conversation for a minute, so is the DBS road-legal?
