Let's see what you think of the eighties my friends.
Now look at it this way. The eighties was filled with drugs, fun, and lot's of bright colors. What was you're favourite part of them... and why?
Tell me... babe.

it was actually me who killed vasilli zaitsev, heinz thorwald, carlos hatchcock, and simo hayha
Well, I wasn't even an infant in the eighties so I have no first hand experience of it. But, i do always get a cheap laugh out of seeing the crazy colorful clothing of the time. That and some of the crazy 80's techno/rock music (Beverly Hills Cop has some prime examples if you've seen it).
supracrazy410, you are right on! I don't remember the 80s either but the Beverly Hills Cop theme is easily the pinnacle 80s song ever. But my favorite has to be the flock of seagulls haircut, Beverly Hills cop movies, Blues Brother, Ferris Buellers Day Off, among many other great 80s movies.
Ferris Buellers day off. Wow.
Do you guy's remember the light hues and such? It was such a happy decade.

Ah, the 80's. A decade of bad hair, bad music, bad clothes, and bad cars.

70s and 60s were better. More pshycedelic, better music and better cars. The only thing I liked about the 80s was the Blues Brothers, which is ironic as it's based on a type of music popularised mainly in the 50s Actually Tron also deserves a special mention
Transformer's robot's in diguise.

In my opinion , the 80's is the era in which mankind peaked at everithing , incuding cars and music . it was a revolutional era .

Agreed. But I highly believe that we will peak again. But not in such a healthy, good way. I just believe we will finally see where we have leade ourselves too, after we're to late.Originally Posted by ripper46

the problem with peaking again in such a way (whith cars) lies , according to me, whit the oil supplies and such, in the eighties it wasn't so much a concern as it is now and will become in the future. another "problem" is that in the eighties there was a new exiting thing fitted to some cars , a turbo , will somebody ever come up with something better than that ?Agreed. But I highly believe that we will peak again. But not in such a healthy, good way. I just believe we will finally see where we have leade ourselves too, after we're to late.
and something I forgot ,the surfing scene in the eighties is an other example of peaking

Seeing as the future of cars is alternative fuels, people will come up with something better than turbos because there will be less internal combustion engines, and thus turbos will be less important and therefore focusing research on improving performance for vehicles powered by alternative fuels *breathes*Originally Posted by ripper46
But anyway, you are aware that the turbo was invented in 1906. And the first time it was used on a production car was in the early 1960s. It is NOT an 80s technology. And in motorsport it was more popular in the 70s.

turbos made there "significant" entry in commercial vehicules in the eighties
sure there could have been some exeptions.
and something better than turbos : alternative fuels ?
wel maybe in a rational kind of way that may become true , but come on , nothing will ever top turbos and petrol driven cars when it comes to carisma and emotion, when petrol dies , a part of me dies along with it. Even if alternative fuels are more efficient and powerfull.
thats just my way of thinking
