Got the head off today took to a mates for machining tommorrow, the 2 exh valves are cactus but the piston has no dimpling and the bore looks good. Looks like it will need a freshen soon because all the cross hatching is gone and the comp ratios are a little low. Hopefully get it all together tommorrow night for another run and see if the ecu problem resurfaces

They seem to make a better hill climb car than circuit car, they have most the weight over the front and are plough pigs and also once the kw start to rise the boxes are fragile, but really thats the case with any awd without a dogbox.

I'll import 2, pity they arent allowed to run in IPRA

brother craigs car is virtually finished

Finished off the last things on the brothers car, it running under its own power now. We put a GSXR1000 aftermarket muffler on it to quieten the blappyness of the note and it works a treat. All you can hear now is the throttle bodies. Fitted the radiator and pipes for it. Nephew took it for a spin round the block and rekons from 4500-8500 it goes hard, he likens it to a EVO 9 in performance, we couldnt hear the exhaust only induction noise

    heres some pics

My car finally gets back from paint

Got the car back on Saturday from paint, it certainly looks a bit cleaner now, have installed the roll cage- an absolute barstard of a job and fitted the engine. The engine fits well, I thought the intake rams would foul the clutch M/C but it clears. THE BLOODY EXHUAST FOULS ON THE STEERING, need to bend the exhaust up to clear, should be an easy fix Heres some pics

Both cars look very sweet Charged!

What kind of throttle bodies are you using?

Can't wait to see some racing pics!
Good luck on the rest of the fitting in your car

quad throttle bodies sound AWESOME ill def have to come have a squiz sometime. Prolly a good idea to put some heatwrap on the exhaust if its that close to anything. Engine in yoru borthers car looks very tidy, wait till it gets a few runs under its belt though

They are both standard factory toyota , my brother runs 42mm and mine are 45mm, thats sort of why we wanted these engines as the ITB's come standard. My engine has slightly higher comp, lighter pistons and more lift on the inlet cam.

Thanks for the kind words Fred, cant wait to get mine finished.

yeah after a few 10 lappers, it will certainly start to breathe a bit, brothers are heat wrapped alredy plus heat sheilds, I will be doing the same, the ignitors sit behind the passenger side shock tower, so we dont want to cook them

    Oh? They come standard?
I can't remember that as a Euro spec.. was this in Australia/Asia only?
Or maybe my knowledge about the 20 valves are a bit poor.

I thought all 20v had ITBs, but I have been wrong before, my engine and my brothers are both import motors from Japan, or as we call them wrecker motors

Will probably make the trip as pit crew if we go this year, but definetley want to do it in 09, Ive been spending too much cash on the car and the new shack has finally started getting built and that will start decimating the bank balance. Need to save some funds as the interstate races cost plenty
