    Gran Turismo 4 Drifting

this is the Gran Turismo version of the Forza drift thread, it's the same, and post anything related to the subject.

    I'll start off.
I prefer the NSX-R at Laguna Seca, it's a pretty good drift car with the driving aids off. You can do some wild drifts with the e-brake.

I didn't use the e-brake in the last picture.

I suck at drifting in GT4. I can only get the car into a drift by using the e-brake and even when im in a drift I can't hold it for very long. But Ive only had it for a couple days.
If you're in control you're not going fast enough.

Drifting in GT4 is hard because the physics engine is designed in such a way that it is against drifting.

It has to do with the way they built the game, in order to make it feel better when "grip" driving (what most people do).

I can't explain, but there was an interview with the maker who explained it...

Edit: erg... that is bad english... but you get what i mean...

You can do it if you put a stiff rear end and loose front end.

In a way that makes it more fun. Im not that good with the handbrake so ive kinda edged myself into a corner relying on a weird setup to get the back end out, but that tends to make it more interesting trying to see how far you can push it and whether you can chain them together.

try -5 toe in the rear it will help you keep the drift but +5 will get it to drift but it won't keep the drift for long

try using the Street tires (in other words N1/N2/N3) and you wont have any problem at all.

i drift in GT4, and i only use absolutly standard cars.

get a silvia, slap those wheels on, and visit tsukuba.. Make sure you use weighttransfer to get the car to drift (no E-brake!)

youll be sideways in no time!
