My mom is getting a new beetle in a few weeks and she still wants to keep the old one, it'd be a pretty interesting build to put one in and still get 50mpg with the diesel.

Great idea. You just can't take your hand off drinks in the cupholders, they keep getting sucked into the jet stream.

    I prefer the Jet scooter.

Pull up to a Ninja and with a wry smile say, "nice bike"; then smoke him, literally.

    It's a stock VW Beetle 2.0 automatic.

    Engine: inline-4, 1984cc, SOHC, 8v
    Weight: 1231kg
    Transmission: 5-speed automatic
    Peak power: 114bhp @ 5200rpm
    Peak torque: 125lb/ft @ 2400rpm
    0-60: 12.9 secs
    Top speed: 113mph

Jet engine has 1350bhp. I have no IDEA how fast that would be.

    Aw, Naw, HE DID'NT!

That Beetle is great. But the driver would have to pay very careful attention to what's behind him.

Jay Leno said that his wacky-racer-esque Y2K superbike (also powered by a jet turbine) could melt the plastic fascias of cars behind him. There's no telling what this thing could do, but it'd probably be a little like the last song on The Final Cut.
