My word. I like that a lot. The closest we got to that here is the limp Civic Type-S, with the 158bhp 2.0 engine.

It's just an Si though. I guess it's close enough. It's not a hatch, although I'm happy about that because the hatch looks weird.

In any case I would much more prefer this Civic Type R over the hatch.

Hondas always manage to muck up their fantastic engine design with performance limiting features

their casting ability is first class , & in many capacitys , their 4 cylinders are class leading for weight

but then they hobble the intake with the vtec freindly double runner manifolds for example , or their insistance of floating liners . 2 things that require major reworks when your wanting a serious tune

not sure i agree with this 4 door variant of the type r. its kind of like a 4 door gtr skyline, half way to looking like a mum's taxi etc. for me, 2 door cars always look better than 4 doors even if on paper they are identical in weight, power, performance etc.
