Did my first "rally" today. Lots of nice competitors/cars. Thought some here might like to see some pics.

I am a bit partial to the Viper...like 'em or not, they have got real presence. A lot of very nice machinery there as well, I take it you took the "B" for a run?

well duh, It's so cool that's it's nearly as cool as the auto-x bonneville.Originally Posted by 092326001

No way, the Autoxbonne is so quick, along with massive body roll, that his camera couldnt catch it.Originally Posted by kingofthering

Here's some more. There were around 10 Vipers there in all. They travelled together mostly. The rally was set up so that one group went one way through the checkpoints and the rest went the other way. It was quite a thing to see to pass by a row of Vipers in the oncoming lane in the middle of nowhere, or a Countach. The rally had an unusual set up. You had a list of checkpoints. Every checkpoint represented a choice. You could go left, right or straight sometimes. You then had one or two confirmations of your choice in the form of a landmark. If you didn;t see it within 2 miles, you went the wrong way, and had to turn back and go the other way. I wasted a lot of time on wrong choices. I didn't like it, it was like a frustrating round of golf. I would have prefered a time/distance formula. I'll post some more pics.
I drove my 71 MGB GT. Held up very nicely. A little cramped for two with maps, papers and so on. I'm not particularly small, either.
Very nice pictures looked like great fun..

Great work. Don't let those boys in their supercars give you any sass. You were undoubtedly having more fun in the MGB GT than the lot of them.
Well, I would also not envy the guys driving the Honda engined formula car that you show hereOriginally Posted by mattmacklind

Thanks! Here's a pic someone else from this board actually took! This was me and co-driver leaving the starting gate. It was a very cool event, a lot of fun.

We had Matra on this board for a long while who also did serious rallying in an MGB-GT. Maybe we could lure him back with your experiences
