I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

Did you also read that it was only confirmed for Japan and not North America, Europe or Australia.

Well my sights are set on one of amazon's 100$ Xbox 360s, but if I don't get one of those (which i probably won't) I'm going with a Wii. (It makes up for it, I have 4 DVD players already [they cost like 20$] and if you buy a Wii now it comes with the opera web browser for free but buying it later will mean you will be charged for it)

The adjective unconfirmed has one meaning:

Meaning #1: not finally established or settled

The adverb supposedly has one meaning:

Meaning #1: believed or reputed to be the case

Supposedly has a different meaning to unconfirmed. Hence the rumur being unconfirmed. If your going to report something report as it is said not how you interpet it. i"m not trying to be a ass but there is a difference. It's possible one day Wii's will have DVD playback not just in japan but at the moment it has only being offically confirmed by Nintendo to be sold in Japan .

I'll be curious to hear how you US beta testers get on with the PS3!

As people have already noted, we don't have it here yet.

To be honest, when it does finally arrive I'd struggle to see the additional value of a PS3 over a Wii or an Xbox 360, since it's going to be significantly more expensive than both main competitors (like nearly double the price) and its production has been rife with problems. And we pay the same in POUNDS that the US market pays in DOLLARS... which really, really sucks.

And missing Xmas in Europe is a massive own goal by Sony. I hear the Wii sold out on Amazon UK in 7 minutes!!! That's how big a deal it is to launch just before Xmas. Very Bad Move Sony.

Got mine the other day, i must say i'm very dissapointed, most of the games i've tried are rubbish. Resistance is only about 1/4 as good from a technical perspective as COD3. Ridge Racer 7 actually looks slightly worse than RR6 on the 360. The machine is fairly big (same as a 360) and outputs twice the amount of heat, also it fails to recognise discs after several hours of use... The joypads are pants too. HDMI output is only ever so slightly crisper than VGA output.

    Rant over.

IIRC gamesport or IGN said the opposite of that, especially when it comes to heat.

Well i can only go on what i have heard. This guy had one imported from Japan because he wanted one so bad. Maybe its just a bad console, if it isn't then overheating problems can only be cured by a replacement i guess. No amount of software and firmware upgrades would help that.
