Full details regarding the 2007 American Le Mans Series season has been released. Exact race lengths and North American TV airing times have been finalized. As expected, the Road America round will be a four hour race into the darkness, while the Belle Isle race in Detroit will also feature the four hour format.
The second round of the season in the streets of St. Petersburg will be run in a three-hour race format while Long Beach’s race will only be one hour and forty minutes in length. Sebring, Petit Le Mans and Laguna Seca all retain their unique endurance race lengths. The remaining five rounds all are two hour and forty five minute races.
Seven of the twelve events will be televised in North America on a tape-delay. However, the most significant events including the 12 Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans will feature live coverage. During the ALMS “State of the Series” address in September, Motors TV committed to bring live coverage of all twelve events to European viewers for 2007.
