I understand why, Gtek-i. If you or I were in one of the two cars, you or me most likely wouldn't be posting right now.

I hate when people name threads "Holy Crap!" or "WTF?"

THe original SMart had a higher ncap rating than the US Chrysler Voyager !
The detailed results showed the voyager driver received MORE leg injuries than the Smart
THe new Smart ForFour gets 4 starts in NCAP.
So far they've not published the latest Smart tests ( it was 1999 the first time )
THe BIG issue with the small car is the protection is "better" but it means the contents (people) are subjected to higher forces.

    True.

Just imagine you crash something like a Focus at that speed. It wouldnt look that much better. For sure you wouldnt survive without luck. Even 20 mph crashes are lethal in some cases.

Offcourse somethig worth mentioning for the US guys is that European people tend to NOT drive huge cars. They dont need to show off the size of their tools, they speak for themselves This also causes the MCC Smart to be a better "opponent" against the other road users.

    What is like a "comon"?

Anyway, I agree with you, the Yukon would probably be totally destroyed.

What it comes down to ultimately is that if Smarts weren't safe enough they wouldn't be on sale.

No amount of naive and uneducated comments about "coffins on wheels" etc is going to change that.
    Thanks for all the fish

Smarts are amazingly safe vehicles, especially for their size and preconceived notions of safety.

How about that versus an 18 wheeler?

A Smart is something I wouldn't buy just because of that reason.

There are other better reasons, like the possibility of getting a real car for what a Smart costs.

You won't be getting a Mazda 3 for Smart money (Brabus aside) if you want it new. I was thinking more in terms of the Fiat Grande Punto or the Citroen C3.

    NOTHING wins against an 18-wheeler.

    Holy!
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.
