No doubt, I'd go diesel. I always rather liked the styling of the Opel Corsa; it has, as I recall, a 1,4l diesel. Second on my list would be anything VW.

IIRC the new Corsa has a 1.3-litre diesel (Fiat origin) and a 1.7-litre diesel (Isuzu origin).

I stand corrected, then. BTW, when did they redesign it? The one I read about was in 2004, so I'm not even sure if they've been redesigned in the meantime or not.

The new Mk IV Corsa has just been launched. The diesel engines available are a copule of 1248cc engines with 75bhp (5-speed manual) and 90bhp (6-speed manual) and a 1686cc unit with 125bhp (6-speed manual).
