If it's true, that sucks. Alot.

Not bad, cracking both next generation formats. Some people have too much free time.

Can anyone put this into English for those of us who don't speak Computer? What does this mean?

Like DVD, we have found a way to copy Blu-ray files, but we still haven't gotten past the encryption, but we'll find a way.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.
Why is it bad?

Copy protection is only so they can corner the money share into there pockets... There greedy people they want more and more money. And even with people copying them they still make billions.
The music industry makes a huge amount of money, A guy like Robbie Williams once said pirated copys were great it's not like I'm going too go broke from it.
They can stop people copying movies and music if they make them more affordable and kill off the copys that way.

what do you mean ya? I get how everyones happy because it's cracked...but blu-ray and hd dvds don't work on normal DVD players and CD drives. Blu-ray consoles cost a fortune and an hd dvd just makes you think why not just get the deal...a blu-ray for a bit more?
G, dvd's don't work on cd players either nor do they fit in MD ... or cassete ... or reel-to-reel .... or phonograph. Can't expect backward compatability all teh time
HD-DVD format is now LARGER capacity than BD with the latest 3-layer version. Will be interesting to see if it hits the streets before BD 50G gets off the ground. A clever piece of technical marketeering to knock down competitor advantages
Wait for all of it to settle out is bets still !!!

Probably close to 150gb. The double sided dual layers were 200gb IIRC.
