o lol omg i'm so sorry that's the wrong pic i've been selecting the pic fastly and pick one with some pathetic edits on it... treat it as you like now, but all in all it doesn't change the pic as a whole too much...

Is this voting thread's gonna be pitched against the other whereby 300ZX is currently leading?

If so, it's gonna be unfair as the overall pics here weren't comparable to those in the other thread, hence it would seem like a group match other than down right competition, highly unfair to other great photos on the first thread merely because the post earlier.

Wouter's pic could've easily won here, but pitched in that first thread, it would be otherwise.

ideally if there was a fair way to separate all the pics into groups where there's an equal amount of "spectacular" photos as there are "not quite as spectacular", then the voting in each thread may appear more fair. then the run-off would legitimately be consider to be the 'best of'. how those first groups are divided will always be under scrutiny though. no easy way about it.

Why don't you just run 2 different competitions? One for members that usually dominate the competitions and another for beginners or members who lack professional photography skill/equipment. It's not like it will be double the threads because there may not be a need for run-off threads due to the fewer entries in each category.

By who had won a comp, and who hadn't. It's really difficult to win one. But somehow, if wouter's pic wasn't in this thread (or comp) then this new suggestion would be sooo damn un-fair to the other winner (to have to stick with competing 300zx, piackki and so on...

I have to say that the high quality of some of the members' shots have contributed to scaring me away from the comps a bit. Choosing & resizing the pictures to compete with takes time for me and I'm usually not motivated enough to make all that effort and give it a go with some ok picture when I know what I'll be facing.

But don't get me wrong, the high quality of the shots are great and they work well as motivation for many of the contributers whom I've seen improving greatly in their efforts of becoming better photographers.

But how to determinate who is a beginner and who isn't?

If someone is too good for the beginners comps they're banned from them?

The vast majority of Wouter's photographs and Black300zx's photographs are extremely good. However, in my opinion we should not have a beginner's and professional's competition. It is so hard to determine who is a beginner and who is a professional photographer, as Piacki stated.

The best picture usually ends up winning anyway. Even if one thread is full of good pictures and another isn't the best of the best is still chosen for the runoff.
