Wow that's messed up. I liked the looks and the crazyness of a mid-engined hatch. The Renaults had a whole series of mid engine hatches, if I'm correct right?

How often do you have mid-engined hatches anyway? It would have been cool to keep them around. They looked real nice.

Well Renault has had 4, the 5 Turbo and Turbo 2 and the Clio V6 Mk I and Mk II. It's not very often that we get mid engined hatchbacks...

Yeah, that's the answer I was looking for. To my knowledge of cars, Renault's the only maker of mid engined hatches.

Well technically Nissan has the Micra with a Murano engine where the back seats should be, but it's not a production car. And in the mid eighties there was the Citroen Visa Lotus, with a mid mounted turbocharged Lotus engine intended for Group B rallying. Group B also gave us three of the most extreme (limited) production hatchbacks ever, the Peugeot 205 T16, the Lancia Delta S4 and the MG Metro 6R4. These are not only mid engined but four wheel driven too. In the case of the Lancia there was a supercharger and a turbocharger too...

    It's not bad, is it?
You forgot the car idolized by Initial D fanboys everywhere- The 80's Toyota Corolla Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX. Pre-80's Corollas were also were RWD. Or the Mitsubishi i, which isn't very hot but has AWD, or the Honda Integra with AWD. Very rare, but it does exist. If that's not enough don't forget the Dodge/Mitsubishi Colt.

I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

Yes you're right. And I'm sure there are others I forgot to mention. Especially from the 80's since everything seemed to get a 4WD version...

Yes, this was in the 90's era. It's rather rare.

Wow... never knew that. Do you have any pictures or stats? I've only known of FWD Integras. It must have been real heavy. I know that there were 4WD Civic hatches, but never Integras.
