    new Mazda 2

    mazda 2

Some photo's of the new mazda 2 it's clearly been styled along the same lines as the some of their recent concepts, it looks pretty good.

Its good to hear that it will be another cross platform car that will be the base of the fiesta.

I have to say it looks quite good. Regarding the engine what I have read is that a pair of 1.3-litre (75bhp and 84bhp) and 1.5-litre (105bhp) will be offered. Concerning the diesels probably (that's my speculation) the 1.4-litre and the 1.6-litre seen in PSA and Ford cars.

We will know for sure in Geneva.

the front is actually really well handled. it's modern and edgy but still very lithe and appealing.

    Kudos Mazda.

It's not even in the same segment as the Mazda 2.

Nice styling. Is this coming to America? I didn't read the link much. Looks like a good Yaris/Fit/Versa competitor.

Is the current 2 sold in the US? If it isn't then I doubt this will.

I kind of like it, its fresh and good looking, could be good competition for the Yaris, Fit, Versa segment.

No, but with the influx of this car's competition and based on the rumors, it stands a fair chance of coming here. I hope it does because it nice looking.

Yup, the Yaris, Fit and Versa are all sold here. However, only the 2 door hatch and 4 door sedan versions of the Yaris exists here. I saw a 4 door hatch in Canada and boy it looked good! On another note, the Yaris and Fit seem to be doing better sales wise than the Versa. I see that the Versa is more rare than the other two econoboxes.

Isn't the Versa bigger than the Yaris and the Fit (Jazz)? Focus rival? Or am I completely wrong?

It may be, but, here, it's considered to be in the same class as them.
