Is BMW's goal to stick the M badge on so many cars (and SUVs... euch) that it is totally meaningless?

I rather liked the more subtle "s" designation used in past on cars such as the 335is, which I actually see less of than M3s. I think the 335is has a nice blend of smooth 335i and harsh M3 lines, and if you use the s designation you don't bastardise the "M" designation.

Oh well, I guess they sell more cars, and it is a business. Then again, they do run the potentially small risk of devaluing the "M" brand.

This. I'd forgotten about the s models. Then again, if they did an AWD model (I think they are?) it'd be the 135ixs, which is getting a little long. If they brought back the C for the coupes, you could have a 135Cixs... etc.
