Just an interesting observation i noted, I remember watching RPM and John Bowe done a test with different tyres on a plain base model commodore, He tested about 5 different tyres and they all gave different feed back, some were terrifyling squeelish and understeery were as other brands made the car feel entirley different. People dont realise that tyres do make a big difference and almost always overlook that fact and point critism towards the cars suspension when it may not be the suspensions ill doing at all.
well if you go to www.dunloptyres.com.au you can see John Bowes comments on their new 300E car tire

Well mostpeopledont seemto realise that most cars have suspension set ups are based around OE tyers.
And likemy father found out cheaper brands Kumo in this case get really good wearing rates in all tests they do but asmy old man found out they are woefull tiers they are so damn hard its not funny they dont handel well and as for the wet forget it.
i had some wide bridgestones on my xygt, i bought the car in 97 and i sold the rims and tyres in 2001 and they guy thats bought em(the owner of gerace restorations)hes a GT and Mustang specialist in Adelaide, has still got them on his xy ute.
Right set up right tyres and right person= very long lasting tyres and being a modified car you can set them up very well for long lastingtyres (You can set them up to destroy them toobut thats not the subject)
And on a small notewas it a genuineXY?
well i gave it a bagging most times i drove it, It had all factory GT parts on it down to the rubbers and lenses and fuel lines etc, I had a GT enthusiast look at it from the outside and he couldnt tell it apart from an original. But as soon as you popped the bonnet the missing id plate was a dead give away, not to mention the lack of the "jg33" on the suspension tower and radiator support panel. I got about 30 pics of the thing but my comp wont accept my scanner software for some reason so i cant put it on here
well wheels on their latest test of replacement 235/45 17's available on the market had 6 top quality brands then at the end had a set of silverstones put in which were a fraction of the cost of the others and they outperformed the pirelli's in the test
pretty much tire wear depends on how you treat the accelerator pedal, same with fuel consumption in most cases.
