I thought SMG was just a fancy name for paddles. Apparently not!
I've decided, based on the extremely high quality of this, his previous A6 and the A4 he had when they first came out with the model, that my next car will be an RS4. If I save about 50% of what I make for the next 6 years (conveniantly when I will graduate college, and thus have a nice place to park a car besides the dorm or something) I'll have more than enough to get one.
And yeah, it has a 50/50 split, and it's great. However good RWD is, this this CANNOT be torn from the road.
Edit: I personally put 150 miles on it today, got it up to about 105 while a Boxster S and I caravanned to the Porsche Club race. Dad got it up to 130 on a freeway entrance ramp, them luckily slowed to only 76 in the 55 before proceeding to get pulled over. Damn construction zones. It was a very fun day of driving the Beast.

I've tried, and no, it is physically impossible. Fact.
I'm sure under some circumstance like an off-camber turn or something, but in normal circumstances, and even in the rain, we haven't been able to get any slippage at all.
I can assure you, this is most definately not underpowered!

I'd like the stability of it, but sometimes you just have to burn rubber and behave like a hooligan.
RS6 for general driving, M3 for anything else, then!
And now my porsche is an Audi fanboy... that makes a whole lot of us...
I command you to stop this blaspheming! Unless this M3 you refer to is from 1988, in which case it passed muster. Stability is over-rated, I should have kept seeing that bipolar chick because being on the edge and knowing you can easily go over is better than being bored.

E46.
And dude, that bipolar chick was insane. Seriously. Slapping someone and then kissing them is not right!
If I want rear wheel drive shenanigans without traction control or other things getting in the way, then I'll take a TVR T350 or something. Maybe a Vauxhall Monaro VXR500.
I'll take my truck for burnouts and any sort of ass-out excursions. It's all too easy with 300hp and almost no weight on the rear tires.
