    Good news!!

I have great news guys! When I went to see my dad today, he was awake! He knew who I was right away and was able to nod yes or no to everything I said to him! He still has the breathing tube, so he can't talk yet, but he was awake!!! Praise God!! They said they might remove the breathing tube very soon!! God willing, they might move him out of the ICU soon!!

Thanks a lot guys, needless to say I'm very happy! I can't wait to see my dad with the breathing tube removed and talking again. The critical first 48 hours have come and gone, my dad isn't the only one breathing easier. If things keep going as they have. He should be moved out of the ICU and into a regular room soon.

Here are a few pics from the hopital where my dad is. I can say with confidence this place is first rate anyway you look at it. From the instalations, equipment, and the quality of the doctors and care from all the staff. It belongs to a chain called Angeles Group. If you're ever in Mexico and God forbid you need to go to a Hospital, go to one of these.

Thank God we have insurance!! This is nothing, you should see the two hospitals they have in Mexico City. The impoartant part is in the quality of the doctors. Second to none, seriously.

Sad to hear about the condition, Hector but it's brilliant that he is getting better. Close calls like that makes one think how fragile life really is and perhaps appreciate life a bit more. I unfortunately lost my dad almost 7 months ago and although there are always things undone and unsaid, it has changed the way I try to be with people whom are near and dear to me.

I'm really sorry to hear about your dad Pando, my deepest condolences bro. You're so right, this close call has made me think about how fragile our lives are. My father has always been a very active and healthy person. Sure he had prostate cancer 5 years ago but got through that. I never expected to see him like this without him having had some sort of sickness beforehand, know what I mean?

I agree with you about saying what needs to be said and doing what needs to be done. Say it and do it TODAY!! There may not be a tommorrow. Cheers.

My dad was taken off the repirator today!! Praise God!! Sure he has an oxigen mask now, but not a machine doing the breathing for him.
