    Radical SR8

Well 'christine' has gone on the dyno for the first time

The new Powertec developed V8 produced 380+BHP on the test bed.

The engine has now been mated to the novel drivetrain ( the oil 'tank' is in the bellhousing ) and run up on the road dyno and turned in a solid 300+hp at the wheels. Torque is 200+lb/ft and flat acrosss the revs from 4,000 to 10,000+

This is SOUNDING and looking good for a new track champion

“When this development phase is complete, we will look at producing a two litre version, and a highly-tuned version for the hill climb boys. The sky is the limit. I’m expecting a call from Minardi and Jordan any day now!”

Would this fit in the new F1 regulations?
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

Yes - hence his comment on Minardi and Jordan

What is good news is this is NOT a highly-tuned version or a focussed version to a spec. Can't wait to see what they'll do for the hill-climb boys ( where currently SPECIAL DFVs and Judds rule the open-classes ).

They're quoting a 30-hour race use before rebuilds. SO ..... wonder what they could achieve if the stress it out to only 6 hour use [F1 weekend]

But even beter, imagine a sensible streetcar with 'normal' body and passenger comforts - got to be the one for the UCP Supercar

I need to move seat again, the floor's wet

http://www.radicalextremesportscars....runs/index.php for even MORE pics of the engine dyno

The management module is by MBE Systems.
They've done systems for the Formula Opel-Lotus racers, WRC rally cars, Cosworth, Rover, TVR, Caterham along with bikes, boats and planes.

So they've the experience to pull of a winner

    I can tell no lie

    anyway ......

    Dimensions
    Length 546mm
    Width 513mm
    Height 440mm
    Dry Weight 92.6kg

    400hp.

    BIG

The Quaiffe 6-speed transaxle only weighs 35kg

So EVERYTHING for 130kg (290lbs) makes the idea of a sub400kg monster possible

I wonder if this fits in that new Caterham CSR chassis. That would make one awesome car.
