I don't see any problems with the watermarks. The question concerning copyrights was brought up not long ago, and I think Daan just did what was suggested in the aforementioned thread, it doesn't alter the quality of the photograph and his picture won't be stolen. If you don't vote because of that then there's a problem.

I think watermarks are ok as long as they are discretely positioned in the bottom right of the photo. I dont see the need for it to take over the photo itself. Even the most professional of Photographers don't do that on the net.

And to wouter, who seems to have regarded me as a cheater, I got an 'A' for my art photography project. This photo was one of the only portraits that didn't involve major editing. So there goes the theory that a photo should hold onto its 'photoshop virginity' in order to be successfull.

They usually post much smaller images in the first place though

Dont go giving me the old patronising 'Mod' sarcasm treatment everyone else gets around here. It seemed as though I was being called a cheater for my work, when actually I got a high grade for it. As I pointed out.

When will you finally understand that being sarcastic has nothing to do with being a moderator? Weren't you here in those days when I wasn't a mod? If you were then you must remember I was even more sarcastic. If you insist on being a cry-baby then do me a favour and go cry anywhere else.

Are you allowed to edit your shots there? Nobody said you delivered poor work.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

    What's wrong with discussing?

Discussing? A discussion implies a notion of respect between the interlocutors.

You can act as if you were. But deliberately seeking for chances to point drakkie or cotterik out after the whole ordeal was over is just not fair and pointless.

I find it amazing that it is over, they cheat and then get away with it.

I'm on W's side on this one. I have no idea to what extent Cotterik was involved but had it been my decision, Drakkie wouldn't be taking part in these competitions for a while.
