THAT, is the network connection, and different ISPs will have different upload/download speeds. I had a 1mbps connection from ISP, but my network (little icon) is 100mbps. 1mbps should be very enough for a webpage to load, but my ISP limits download speed to ridiculously low speeds.
(No offence - Hope you're not joking with me (i don't see any smiley) into explaining this cos it feels rather the same as Ken Tsui telling us about "New Cars")

yh the 100mbps is the speed between the router and your computer not the internet, your internet could have been something like 56k without your knowing..
I have 100mbps link to my home (just to I'd rub it in for the non-europeans)
and I also have an ethernet jack in the WALL
sweden is really on top of things

Is that quick? it depends on whats on the page I'm on 1.5mbps
