Let's do a record attempt!

When you look at the forum index, you perhaps notice that the most users ever online is 1,119. This record is dated 3-3-2006, at 12.56 pm.

In two days time, it will again be 3-3. My idea is that we come up with a time that is reasonable for most users and we agree to come online at that time and hopefully achieve a new record.

I know it's a bit short time but perhaps we can pull this one off. So please tell me what you think and perhaps come up with a good time.

Would that be such a great idea to intentionally alter statistics? IMHO that kind of records should be made spontaneously.

I'm a bit skeptical - I don't think it can be done with regular posters showing up and setting a record just for the sake of setting a record, what would be needed for that is a general interest in the public (eg due to some event) which would bring a lot of non regulars to the site during a short period of time.

the 1119 was recorded at a time when the registration methodology was different and too optimistic. It will be very difficult now, with a more realistic measuring system, to beat that record. Furthermore, there are never more than about 20-30 forum members online at the same time, so the exposure of this record attempt would be very limited...

Ok, so I get your points and they seem fair to me... I just wanted to do this because it seemed nice to me to break this record for the "UCP-feeling". Shame it wont work out, but that's life

Why not try that ? Perhaps some kind of home-made TV show ? Everyone could perhaps tape a review of a car or something ? We could put it together and find someone to talk it together...

Or does it sound too complicated To me atleast it seems quite a nice thing to do.
