Don't know, but I'm concerned about NSX sales over the years and how it will affect the next generation... What was it in 2005? only about 200 NSXs sold? Maybe they'll go for something more appealing to the current market I.E a big, front engine, heavy leather seats and fancy gadgets, heavy AWD system etc... This will surely increase sales yet disappoint true enthusiasts

It certainly is a difficult compormise. After all the NSX became the benchmark yet it wasn't a sales success. I suppose the lack of heritage also played a part, and I doubt a front engined GT would be called NSX. We of course would prefer a Lotus Elise for people who don't want to have backache, but I guess we'll see.

The biggest problem with the NSX was at the end of the day, it's still a Honda. The majority of people who can afford to drop 6 figures on a car, want people to know they dropped 6 figures on a car.

    "I drive a Ferrari." > "I drive a Honda/Acura."

^ True, plus by 2005 it'd been around for a while, and most likely everyone who wanted one had one.

Does the same apply to the Ford GT?

The real problem with the NSX has always been the engine. Nobody feels it's fair to pay $90k for a 280hp car.

No because it had the heritage behind. 4 Le Mans wins always help.

Dont gorget the GT's target market was to Americans. The new cars position in the sales charts of matching Ferrari 360 performance at a fraction of the price would echo through alot of people and remind them of how the original GT40's beat Ferrari on track.

    That is isn't exactly true...

And Ford has much more than that, rallying, endurance, touring cars... Let's be brutally honest in the 80's a japanese company making a supercar was as likely to be a success as if tomorrow Hyunday launched one.
