I'm a rear-drive guy myself. AWD is nice in the snowbelt, but seeing as how people drove for years in snowy climates with RWD, I don't see why I couldn't.

Hmm...I would go in this order of preference: (keep in mind I also drive a truck)

4x4 (since it is basically AWD and RWD combined into one)
    AWD
    RWD
    FWD

    Amen. RWD actually.

AWD - Fastest in the real world
RWD - Fastest on a Track / Racing
    FWD - Weak

I think it's very inconvenient to reverse and slide/drift, so RWD > FWD imo.
4x4 is great too. Help is just the push off a butten away after an off.

With those stats AWD is out of the question, but please explain why FWD is better that RWD...

It's true that an Integra Type R definitely can handle well, but FWD is inherently bad for a racing car. It doesn't make sense- the same wheels that steer the car power it as well.

Mid engine RWD is probably the best setup for a racing car, so in this thread's terms, RWD is best, followed by 4WD.

    I have a question,

I was reading about the Audi Quatro system, And i could not figure it out. Is it 4wd or AWD? and how does it work. I just couldn't understand it and where it saves the weight as compared to other 4wd or AWD, whichever it is.

I think it's AWD because it shifts power to the wheels that need it, although I'm not completely sure myself.
