The Protos car that was assembled for the 1908 race is not related to the race car of today. The Protos company was bought by the Siemens Corporation almost immediately after the race of 1908. I get it is a response to my question on a previous page, thank you. Since then I have found out that the 1967 wooden Protos 16 formula 2 cars had no relation to the early Protos - they were built by Frank Costin for Ron Harris.
