Past rumours had one coming around 2008-2009, but with the facelift due around the same period and the Mk3 due not too much later, its been pushed back/cancelled.

Well the claims are the next model is going to have the same lump so i cant see any reason why they dont add a few odd and ends and make and RS version.

Well the RS isnt guranteed to have the same Volvo engine as the ST, so whether or not the ST keeps the same engine doesnt matter if Ford want to use the I6 Volvo engine.

You wouldnt want to put too much more power into the current chassis whilst keeping it FWD either. Ford understand that, and since the Mk1 RS have been looking at making the next one AWD. Thats where the hurdles have been.

It was bound to happen overtly powerful fwds are not the best of ideas.

And i was wondering when a AWD version was due what a shame ford let go of cosworth...we are not likely to see a cosworth version like in the previous models (escort and sierra)

I'm still wondering when the Civic Si will go AWD. Probably in a generation or two when it has 250+ hp?

I don't think it will. The Civic isn't meant to be an Impreza-like car. It's an economy car that's just a little more performance oriented than others.

The new TSX might be SH-AWD though.

I have no idea why you guys are complaining. You really have nothing (much) to complain about.

Holy crap that car is ugly!

Not even the Type R Civic looks like going AWD soon. IIRC, this new model is either the same or within single digits in kW and Nm from the previous model.

What about the new TL? I LOVE the look of the current TL and if it wasn't FWD, it would be exceptional.

I love the current TL as well and I do hate that it's FWD. If it were to be RWD, it'd be one freaking awesome ride.

TL might go SH-AWD just because the next NSX is going to be SH-AWD if Honda keeps their plans consistent. I really hope the next NSX is not SH-AWD.

I really would rather that the TL be RWD than AWD, unless if they can make an AWD system as insanely good as the Audi's Quattro system.

I thought that the SH-AWD was the most sophisticated AWD system on the market.

If they put AWD in the "next NSX", they had best not call it an NSX.

It is according to Acura. I'm not that much of a fan of it because I haven't heard much on it. Some people love it, some people hate it. In any case, the RL, which hasn't been selling all too well, kinda gives a bad name for the AWD system because it's too heavy and underpowered. The RL is a good car if not for that major fault.

SH-AWD is basically FWD-biased AWD, IIRC.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.
