You're mad if you get a Discovery with high miles, they're unreliable enough as it is!

And a Discovery for a first car? Good grief!

Quite possibly the worst possible choice you could make.

Don't worry, it was only a thing of interest anyway

Gonna try to take a look at that 1979 300CD when I'm off work, maybe Sunday...

Buy a car, crash it, then make another thread.

Three months and 13 pages is enough. Decide on something.

Found a 92 Subaru Legacy Turbo with 187,000 miles on it, new transmission, new tires, for $1200

I don't know if my parents would be all too keen on it. And the person wants $2400
And if I got the Subaru, I wouldn't have to help pay for it since my parents will pay $1500. So I might be able to use the extra $300 for exhaust and air filter or maybe an upgraded turbo

Damn it, that's my fantasy scenario. Get out. I want it back

If you buy a car for less than 2 grand don't even bother upgrading it, you won't have it for long. You gotta understand cars don't run forever... 190 thousand miles is the equivalent of being a ww1 and onward veteran.

Still, 190k is a boatload of miles. I'd only touch a car in that vicinity if it was a diesel. On top of that, it's a turbo. Probably not a good idea.
