2008 Le Mans Predictions Competition Official Thread

Ok time for a fun little competition. For those that don't know all the entries, they can be found here.

We're gonna have 2 competitions, but you only make one set of picks.

    First Competition:

You pick the winners only. The winner is the person with the most correct choices.

    Second Competition

Same as your picks from the first competition, however based on a points system.

4 points if you correctly guess the winner.
2 points if you correctly guess the team.
1 point if you correctly guess the manufacturer.

The winner is the person with the most points.

Remember, you only make 1 set of picks.

Zytek and I discussed when we should launch the competition, and we decided after test day so you can look at test results and make some guesses based on that. Test results can be found here and here.

Although I haven't cleared it, I believe he and I will be running the competition (Ok Z_F?), and when tallying up scores, we will double check to make sure all is well.

This thread is for predictions only, and the mods will clean up all non-predictions. After Le Mans is completed, the forum will be open to debate and discuss results. If you have a question, PM me or Zytek_Fan.

Edited posts will be rejected except in the case of a legitimate mistake - if you have a legitimate mistake, contact a mod and get them to edit it so we can see that a mod corrected the error and not you - then this will not be rejected and it will be all good.

Mods, please don't edit all our picks after we make them unless asked, we know you have a good sense of humour, but try to keep your mean streaks / pranking in check!

The completion will be shut after 12:01 AM GMT Wednesday June 11 (the day of qualifying). Any picks after this will be rejected, and furthermore, even if you have made a legitimate mistake and have contacted a mod to edit your choice, at this point, if you get a mod to edit it, your selections will not be accepted.

I think that covers it all.

    Please emulate my selection style.

    Time for my picks:

I think the ACO gives them a little leeway in using the extra 0 as an homage to the Bond films.

I'll shoot myself if someone predicts a backmarker win and they end up being right.

The rabbit (or hare) normally is only one car in a team that will go flat out right from the start. As Peugeot now will have 3 cars in the rae (2 last year), they are evenly matched with the Audis, who will probably also have one "fast" car out and two more conservatively driven ones.

If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.
