i dont like F1 as much because it doesn't seem as competitive for me at least

i wonder why most of the LMP cars are open now is their any advantage? i heard that the restrictions said the closed car had to have skinier tires than the open ones, would there be any reason for this?
The skinner tires only took place with the GTP rules (of 1999-2003).
Should Comcast, which is buying NBC, have more motorsports coverage on VERSUS and now NBC? Does North America need a racing tv channel? Find the answer to that exact question on facebook.

How fast are these cars? I mean compared to F1, what are the reasons behind their design? Any limitations? and whats all the LMP, GT1, GT2 thing? Do they all ran alongside? Only in France and US ?

buffled ..... any videos of a lemans car pitched against an f1 ?
I think you'll get the coverage next year, as Asian Le Mans series start in 2009 with two races - Japanese and Chinese.

Because F1 is open wheel racing. An exception is this: 1954 - 1955 Mercedes Benz W196 Streamliner - Images, Specifications and Information

But I believe full width bodies are banned now.

I meant a streamlined T51. I'll scan the painting in a few moments.

I checked out, tested only once during practice for the French 1959 GP at Reims, abandoned because it got almost airborne at 180 mph...

Although i do not have scientific figures, but to me, a lemans car's shape looks tends to get airborne easily compared to F1's open wheel design .... is it true?

LMP cars achieve topspeeds that current F1 cars can only dream of.

So what exactly did they make to compete in the GT1 class, or do they not have cars in GT1 class altogether?

yes, but surprisingly they banned them many years later - on 60's or even 70's

The difference between GT1 and GT2 is the level of development allowed on them. Modifications for GT2 are limited, while GT1 cars are virtual prototypes that retain the overall shape and chassis of the original cars, but include many, many modifications. The Porsche 993 GT2 was a GT1 (was known as GT2 back then) car as was the Ferrari 575 GTC.
