Ledger's performance was good, I'm not arguing about that. The cellphone thing, come on though...
I was watching a billionaire dressing up as a bat in Batman Forever as well and that movie was crap any which way you look at it. The fact that it's a movie based on a comic is no excuse for what is in my opinion a BS idea in an otherwise not-too-shabby movie.
....For the love of all that is holy.....
If the Cell Phone thing is the only, ONLY problem you have with the movie, you have to say they've done well then.
And a phone can be used as both a homing & explosive device, For the record.

...For the love of all that is unholy... Why so serious?
I didn't say the movie was bad, just that it's not as good as I hoped it would be. And, for the record, I don't care if a phone can be used as a sexual stimulus or remote bomb detonator, it's still IN MY OPINION a shitty idea. And it's not the only, ONLY problem I had with the movie (read my previous comments), but it sure was my biggest problem with it.
Why so serious indeed
When phones are so integrated into modern life - and the film is sponsored by Nokia - then it's got to be a reasonable plot device in order to counter the obvious product placement

I have a feeling we'll be doing this dance for days and still not get anywhere.
You obviously loved the film and that's cool, and I didn't mean to offend.
So now I'm off to go find something about cars to argue about.
I had no intention of sounding fanboyist or to stop you expressing your opinion, I just thought that there were more important things to worry about
<handshake> good day, sir

the movie was too long and boring in parts....ledger's character was nearly the same as giovani's character in Shoot-em-up
