suspended, hinged ones are always really long and i seem to push them accidentally (pulling the seat fowards -> crumpling the carpet against it -> WOT )

Floor. Easier to do heel-and-toe ( especially on ralliy stages and rough roads

QFT Matra, I find the throttle pedal on the brothers and nephews cars heaps easier to heel-and -toe on than my shorter suspended accl pedal

both our 911's have hinged, hence the carpet problem i mentioned earlier...they don't have carpets now but for 90% of cars supended is better i think

Mini and BMW have it hinged and it's fine. No probelms with carpets.

My choice is hinged at the floor. For me, they seem easier to use and these types usually have a larger pedal. (I like big brake and accelerator pedals.)

Of my 3 cars, one has the suspended type and the other two have the hinged at the floor, so I can compare.

I am also curious as to which of those two types cost more to build. It looks to me like the suspended type costs less since the hinged type is two pieces.

If it's any ication usually premium cars use the hinged type and economy cars the suspended.

At least the ones I've seen that is.

Yeah, I thought so, too. I wonder if cost is a factor?
