Can't we all just accept now that Mazda is the best JP company? They know a thing about cheap fun!
I mean come on MX-5? 2,400lbs! (1,095kg) .also 50:50 weight ratio again, and RWD, though its 300lb heavier than the 1st gen.
Does this look like a woman's car to you?!

Its the 2009 Mazda MX-5 MPS/ Mazdaspeed MX-5. Or it would be, but I heard they're not going to make a MPS version. You can still buy the parts though.

I'd rather a lotus, but I guess that's apples to oranges considering the cost difference. What I'd really like is to see some competition for the Miatas to see where it could go. Too bad dodge didn't make the demon and the solstice was so comparatively heavy. Why is it so hard to make a lightweight cheap little two seater? Aside from crash safety and all, which the MX-5 still handles fine.

Yeah it is strange that there's so little competition for a cheap roadster. You see them all the time too so they must sell well. You'd think other companies would catch on to that....

Well up until now there was the base 2 litre Z4. And there still is the base 4 cyl SLK. I guess those are distant competitors though. Still better than nothing.
Lack of charisma can be fatal.
Visca Catalunya!
ha, i like it.
the GTR is heavier though...wait but it is physically larger so the wieght is spread out..shit that's actually kinda intriguing now.
sectional density like in ballisitics
the mr2 used to be quite good, and not that long ago they were still selling them...maybe they'll bring it back. the S2000 is too overpowered and expensive to compete.
