    That's what I do too.

    This Nissan device is just wrong. It's like happing a flappy paddle gearbox and pretending you are like Lewis Hamilton. It's just there for showing off, no relevance whatsoever to the enthusiast.

    Point 1: cars are going to die sooner or later, that's the reality to face, things like this are preventing them from disappearing too early, making them both slightly more efficient and more interesting for the average Joe that wouldn't be to do it by himself, which eventually be happy/fine even with a fully automatic way of transportation, since he owns a sport car or drives it in a sporty way just because it's a status symbol.

    Point 2: this feature is useless for an enthusiast (supposed 370Z owner), the best part is learning to do stuff like H&T (quite problematic in a diesel car thanks to the turblag and lack of response of the engine itself).
    makes the car even pointless: it's a sport car, available with systems to recover the car if you lost control, systems to accelerate better, to brake better, to change gear better...perhaps the owner should be gently asked by the on board computer if he is really sure he wants to actually drive the car. more likely he would just answer "no thanks, justdrive fast and loud, I want to be noted by those chicks".
    And so we are facing the Point 1.

    Wow, a lot of criticism... remember guys, as stated in the article:

    The system can be deactivated with a button next to the shifter for drivers who prefer less vehicle intervention.

    the ESP was meant with the same purpose and now it's standard on all cars, which is fine, but in a lot of them, even the sportier one, it no more deactivable.

    I hate cars where you can't turn the ESP off.

    --> modern cars.
    the Croma is so, the Phedra had the switch to turn it off (yes, I used to drive reckless in the Phedra in empty parking lot) but it actually just retarded the ESP activation of a few tenth.
    not the in such car is a real problem, but if we are talking about AMGs...

    Actually I do thinks it's annoying to not be able to turn the ESP off in cheap(ish), slow(ish) cars because if anything with those you can have fun at lower (therefore safer) speeds, but not being able to turn off the ESP takes away all the fun...

    Fortunately in the BMW you can turn the electronic nanny off.

    that's why I love the Stilo: it has no ESP, it's still build in an old-fashion way, so it's quite light (for its stance), it handles in a very predictable way, it's cheap to run, even reliable (battery apart).
    and it's hugely funny on the mud/snow.

    Don't the newer AMG's (C63, CLK Black, SL65, etc) have ESP that stays off when so selected?
