    Golf GTi VS Golf R32

Which car do you think is better between the VW Golf GTi 2.0 and the VW Golf R32 3.2L??

I personally prefer the R32 but I do like the GTi what do you reckon??

Here are the stats: Volkswagen Golf GTI 2.0-litre turbocharged FSI 3 door VS Volkswagen Golf R32 3.2-litre 3 door

The R32 is more powerful but also considerably heavier and I reckon the GTI is nimbler and more fun to drive. On a track they are almost as fast.

GTI; a personal and sentimental preference as I grew up with all the mk. I through III GTI's. No doubt the R32 is fast and powerful but I still prefer the GTI.

I quite like the R32, it's a good car to drive and one that you feel safe going fast in. Regardless, the only conclusion I came to was that I wouldn't buy one for some reason I quite couldn't put my finger on.

I however, haven't driven the current GTI yet, but I've heard nothing but good things about it and would be fond to try it out.

The R32 is a pretty cool looking car. I wouldn't go for the new R32 though, because it seems stylistically wrong. An old one would do fine though.

    What he said.

Except that the R32 has possibly one of the best sounding sixes ever.

i want the r32 with the front half of the drive train removed. that's right. rwd vr6 golf.

i really don't like awd, so i would take the gti over the r32. i would rather sacrifice that bit of speed for the single pair of driven wheels. in reality i wouldnt get a golf of any variety. i dont like the way they fit me, i have tried to get the driving position right, but i guess its not designed for someone of my dimensions.

The GTi is a great car, and fun too. But the R32 just feels special.

GTI. Both put up about the same performance despite the R32 having so much more power, since it also has more weight. I prefer performance through lighter weight, so easy choice.
