    I smell the smell ( ... let's say, fragrance) of a POTD...

    Such a cool car, btw.

That's the car Crocket had in Miami Vice (in black) before they blew it up and changed to a white Testarossa.

Except that it was really just a corvette with fancy bodywork.

I've never found this car attractive; that's not to say that it's unatractive. The color doesn't do it any favors, either.

You're right, the Miami Vice car was a kit. Thank God!! If they had blown up an original, I would have hunted them down one by one!!

    Top down it certainly improves.

    I prefer the Berlinetta though.

I suppose it's also one of those cars that looked markedly better in the metal, but still lacking in some inexplicable way.

For me it's like the Lamborghini Countach, one of those cars that I can't help loving.

"During the first two seasons (of Miami Vice) and two episodes of the third season, Detective Sonny Crockett drove a BLACK 1972 Ferrari Daytona Spyder 365 GTS/4. Actually, the car was not a Ferrari, but a kit replica based on a 1980 Chevrolet Corvette C3 chassis. The car was fitted with Ferrari-shaped body panels by specialty car manufacturer McBurnie.

Once the car gained notoriety, Enzo Ferrari filed a lawsuit demanding that McBurnie and others cease producing and selling Ferrari replicas, because they were taking his name and styling. As a result, the vehicle lasted until season 3, at which point it was blown to pieces.

The fake Ferraris were removed from the show, with Enzo Ferrari donating two brand new 1986 Testarossas as replacements."

Stunning pix - thanks a lot!

If I could have just one car, it'd probably be one of these.
RHD, please (they only made 6 or 7 of them!).
    Any colour will do...
