a small charity cruise in sydney today raised $777.60 for the red cross fire relief fund.
Its not alot, but it will help in some small way.

This a tragedy on a massive scale.
That is not to belittle other tragedies in recent times, but the impact is so visceral and in your face with images of 50m trees burning out of control on a front km's wide.
Anyone see the guy who filmed the approach from his verandah? The speed at which the fire moved from behind a ridge to his place, being a couple of km's, was freakishly scary.
He had built a bunker and hid in there while the fire went past. Very very lucky bloke.
That the whole of Maryville, bar one building are obliterated is beyond comprehension.
We could hope that justice is served and the accused arsonists if & when they get caught are given a fair trial.
But I have no doubt that if they are found guilty they may not make it out of prison intact.
An incredible time for the Australian psyche'.
