    Brake Rotor Smaller?

    Hey guys,

went to change the rotors on my daily today only to find that the new ones are 10mm smaller in diameter then the old ones. Im not sure whats happened but the part numbers right for the car, could the previous owner have put bigger rotors on? is 10mm smaller going to make any noticable difference?

    Any help appreciated.

I can understand the rotor differences if they're jap/aus delivered models.

But I dont understand why the part number would be the same.

I think they just like messing with you.. it's probably some magic eye trick of the light or something.

If your existing calipers etc work with the new rotors, I'd not have any qualms about putting them on there. They're still designed for that car.. you might notice a small lessening of braking performance, but it's not like you go racing in it.. right?

In the dba catalogue it says there the same for a n14 pulsar, it should be okay as long as the pads sit on the disc

The Nissan part numbers are different for aus delivered and aus assembled. DBA just lists one N14 1.6L rotor which is 250mm diameter. These are 240mm diameter.

Anyways the 'new' ones are 18mm wide and the old ones are 16mm wide so i think theres enough left on them just to get a skim and fit new pads.

ugh i just had this problem over the weekend. doing a brake job on the highlander. we did everything then the rear wheel when we put it on wouldn't turn and in order to drive it we had to stay on the gas. something was definitely wrong. turns out there are two different rotors for the rear and there is like a width difference of an 1/8 inch. enough that when it was all tightened up the rotor would lock onto the brake dust shield. took it back and they switched them to the right ones.
